My two "regulars" left on Saturday...since they were the only ones we've had for a couple of weeks, I had named them "Butterball" and Skinny Minny.

I had a migrant stopover Sunday afternoon...so I'll be leaving the feeders up for awhile!

They are BIG eaters....so be prepared Valleygirl! Smile

Thanks for the warning, sandylee.  What is so funny is that they all want to drink from this little one-port feeder that I have hanging outside my kitchen window! (I had to fill it up twice yesterday) t is so funny watching two-three of them trying to drink out of that one little hole!  I have a full size one too but they don't like it as much.  Wonder why?

Oh, well, I'll leave mine up until they leave...whenever that may be

Last year I bought the larger size flat feeder from Wild Birds...hummers HATED it...the perches and holes seem to be placed all wrong.  I took it back and traded it in for the smaller version....hummers LOVED it immediately!

I think the hummers like the smaller feeders because they are closer to the size of real flowers.

By the way...mine are starting to slack off.  Must be getting close to migration time

Since you brought up IKE, I live near Baytown, Texas and the winds really torn things up.

A friend up mine that lives near Lake Conroe, which is a little farther North and West of me, said that during the Hurricane she had three Rubies going through their normal routine at her feeders.  Except of course, the feeders were moving almost as fast as they were flying.

p.s.  Another bird that made itself known following the Hurricane was the little house wren.  It seems like they were everywhere and extremely disturbed that their trees were blown down.

I believe the hummers are really gone, now.  I have not seen one since Saturday or before, and I have spent considerable time outside.  I am sad to see them go, but look forward to seeing some of the birds that go north for the summer.  I will keep the feeder up a little bit longer just in case.
