    Bird egg identification

    Hello from Long Island, NY

I recently discovered two egg shells in my front yard that I am most curious to identify. I live within 1/8 of a mile of the LI Sound and my property is wooded - the area is fairly rural. The eggs are about the size of chicken eggs and robin's egg blue in color. The certainly appear to be too large to be backyard bird eggs. Are they some type of water fowl egg? Thanks in advance for any help.

Could you get us a picture of the egg shells?
